Free online image compression with no visible quality loss
MiniPic’s online image compressor is a web tool that needs no sign-up: drop images in and they’re compressed. On a public benchmark set, PNG files shrink by 75.3% and JPEG files by 56.6% on average, and every sample image passes the perceptual-quality check.
Images are used only for the current compression: encrypted in transit, served over private links, never leaked, and never used for training or any other purpose. · Privacy Policy
Three steps
Compress images in three steps.
Drop in images
Drag images into the area above, click to choose them, or just paste; 20 per batch with no sign-up.
Choose a quality
Smart, the default, finds the balance between size and quality for each image; you can switch to High fidelity or Maximum, and convert to WebP when you need to.
Compare and download
Drag the slider to compare before and after, then download one by one or all at once as a ZIP.
Supported formats
All the common formats, compressed.
PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, TIFF and AVIF are compressed in their original format; SVG is optimized with identical rendering; HEIC is converted to JPEG and BMP to PNG.

Three quality modes
Smart, High fidelity, Maximum. All free.
Smart
The default. Finds the balance between size and quality for each image; for most images, it’s the one to pick.
High fidelity
Puts detail first, for photography, design files and other images where quality matters more.
Maximum
Shrinks files further, for when load speed matters more.
Quality benchmark
Compression results, open for anyone to check.
On a public benchmark set, we compare file size and perceptual quality image by image against an open-source reference stack under the same quality constraints.
75.3%
Average PNG size reduction
56.6%
Average JPEG size reduction
71/71 PNG and 51/51 JPEG images each passed the perceptual-quality check; under the same conditions, the open-source reference stack reduced PNG by 66.5% on average. Report dated 2026-07-10.

FAQ
Is online image compression free?
Yes. Without signing up, you can compress 100 images a day, up to 5 MB each and 20 per batch. Sign up for no daily limit, 1,000 images a month and 50 per batch; Pro gives you 5,000 images a month, up to 80 MB each and 300 per batch.
Will compression make my images look worse?
By default, MiniPic uses Smart mode to find the balance between size and quality for each image, and you can compare before and after with a slider. On the public benchmark set, 71/71 PNG and 51/51 JPEG images each passed the perceptual-quality check (report dated 2026-07-10).
Which formats can I compress?
PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, TIFF and AVIF are compressed in their original format; SVG is optimized with identical rendering and stays SVG; HEIC is converted to JPEG and BMP to PNG. You can also convert everything to WebP.
Can I compress an image to a specific size, like 100KB?
The web app doesn’t support target sizes yet; it offers three modes: Smart, High fidelity and Maximum. In the desktop app, Pro’s Custom precision control lets you choose ≤100KB, 200KB, 500KB, 1MB or a custom target size.
Can I compress images in batches?
Yes. The web app takes 20 images per batch (50 once you sign up, 300 with Pro), and you can download the results as a ZIP. Batch-compressing a whole folder requires the desktop app with Pro.
How long are uploaded images kept?
Images are used only for the current compression: encrypted in transit, accessed via private links, deleted automatically within 24 hours, and never used for training or anything else.
How is MiniPic different from TinyPNG?
MiniPic’s servers are in mainland China, its compression-quality benchmark is public, it accepts WeChat Pay and Alipay with electronic VAT invoices available on request, and it offers desktop apps for Mac and Windows. For a detailed comparison, see “TinyPNG alternative in China”.
